How to Fix Wi-Fi Issues This guide will allow Step 1: Check Wi-Fi is Turned On (WFH, Office, Travel) Make sure your device's Wi-Fi is enabled, it should show like the image below If it is not showing as above, click the Wi-Fi icon and turn the Wi-Fi button on by clicking it too, it should look blue once turned on If the above does not help, look for the Wi-Fi icon on the taskbar again, ensure the laptop it's not in airplane mode, a blue airplane icon means it is turned on, turn it off Step 2: Reconnect to the Network (WFH, Office, Travel) Click the Wi-Fi icon, it will disconnect you from your network Wait 10 seconds, then reconnect and re-enter the password if prompted Step 3: Restart Your Computer or Device (WFH, Office, Travel) Restarting clears temporary connection issues and resets the network adapter Step 4: Restart the Router or Modem (WFH) Unplug the router or modem from power Wait 30 seconds, then plug it back in and wait for all lights to stabilize Step 5: Forget and Rejoin Network (WFH, Office, Travel) Press the Windows key on your keyboard and type "Settings", click on Settings Select Network & Internet on the left panel and click on Wi-Fi Select Manage Known Networks Locate the failing network and choose Forget Reconnect by selecting the network again and entering the password Step 6: Check Other Devices (WFH, Office, Travel) See if other devices (phones, tablets, other laptops) can connect to the same Wi-Fi If none can connect, the issue is likely with the router or internet service Step 7: Check Network Adapter Settings (WFH, Office, Travel) Press the Windows key or click the search bar on the task bar and type Control Panel, select it Click on Network and Sharing Center, then select Change adapter settings on the left menu Right-click your Wi-Fi adapter and select Enable if it's disabled. If already enabled, try Disable > then Enable (if it shows a yellow/blue icon you may need to request Admin Rights before disabling/enabling) Step 8: Reset Network Settings Press the Windows key or click the search bar on the task bar and type Network Reset, select it A new windows will pop up, click the "Reset Now" option, on the right side, and then click Yes when prompted (Note: This last step above will remove all saved Wi-Fi networks and reset adapters)
